TOURIST ATTRACTION IN KANO

Kano State comprises an area of 20,760 square kilometers, Kano State borders Jigawa to the North East, Katsina to the north and kaduna state and Bauchi State to the south.

The state capital is Kano while there are a total of 44 Local Government Areas. In terms of population, it’s the most populous state in Nigeria, its total population is estimated at 9.3 million, made up mostly of Fulani and Hausas.

Hausa language is widely spoken in the northern Nigeria and also spoken in a number of other African countries like Niger, Chard, Ghana, Senegal and Cameroun.

Kano State is a major industrial and commercial center. However, Agriculture, dyeing, blacksmithing and many more.

Kano is one of the most ancient cities in Africa and use to be a transit point for the famous trans Sahara trade route and had a lot to offer in terms of tourism if you are interested in history, friendly faces and beautiful dress, come to Kano. Among the tourist place in kano are old city, ancient gates, Kasuwar Kurmi, K/Mata Dye pit. Emirs palace, Gidan Makama, Dala Hills, Gidan Danhausa, Dawakin Kofa pottery and Minjibir weaving village.

Among the places mentioned above, is Kurmi Market one of the largest market in Africa. It is located in the old city at place that used to be a mangrove forest with the Jakara River flowing through it.

Another place Beside Kurmi market is Dala Hills present it self as the best starting point for tour through the kano. Maguzawa tribe (Hausa origin) are the main settlers, who assembled there annually at the Dala Hill to received sermon from the chief called Barbushe. Visitor can climb to the top nowadays for tourism attraction.

Many other place can be visited in and around the state capital.
